Cafe Bustelo Hits Chicago With Pop Up Shop
We weren’t sure what Cafe Bustelo was, but Snapchat attracted us thanks to OutCold Marketing. Cafe Bustelo is a Cuban coffee brand with a kick, and we were fortunate enough to experience their Chicago Pop-Up shop. No matter what was purchased, or learned, it was a memorable experience that companies dream of achieving. Let’s examine two key ingredients for making a pop-up environment rememberable.
Engage Me So We Know It’s Real
Upon entering the space we were educated on Cafe Bustelo by brand ambassadors not being over salesy, and as a potential consumer we could physically experience the lifestyle in a welcoming way. Creating branding that engages and documents the experience is extremely important for gaining loyalty of new consumers, and brand exposure. We all live in a hyper digital society so why not use that to your advantage? Does your audience use Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram? There are plenty of places to capture the moment either for free or a small fee with analytics included. In Cafe Bustelo’s case they used a computer with a built-in camera, a social sign in, printing machine, hashtags for tracking, and simplicity. Of course there was plenty of brand signage throughout the space, but the interactivity is always more impactful in the long run.
Entertain Us Like We Are At Our Favorite Spot
We missed Gemini Club’s performance, but were able to work while Dj Timbuck 2 played great music during his dj set to keep the vibe in the space attentive. If there is a possiblity of downloading that set, we need it ASAP! We noticed the lineup posted in the space which told us we need to come back tomorrow, and we did. Great call to action. One of the first things we noticed on the entertainment side was personalization vs commercialization. No only did this helped spark more curiosity in Cafe Bustelo, but it also sparked curiosity of the live local talent. Watching people take selfies, moving to the beat while typing on their MacBooks, and actress Sophia Bush of Chicago PD stop in for coffee was really interesting. This kept us attentive with getting our work completed, but entertained when we took a break.
