A Challenge to Our Community.
Dear Glappitnova Community,
Do you remember that part in the movie where that one moment changes the entire outcome? That is where we are in society right now.
You. A leader. An everyday citizen. Your voice has the power to inspire a more empathetic future for generations to come.
Our history hurts. We are still hurting from that history every single day. That history is part of who we are and who we are not. Glappitnova was birth out of a similar history, called segregation. We made it a challenge for us to change it. So we brought different types of people and perspectives into the same setting and it grew into more cities.
I challenge you to go into the bathroom and look into the mirror right now. Stare deep into your soul and ask yourself, how much do I care about injustice, and am I afraid of change? Whatever your answer is, you will have to live with that for the rest of your life. Years from now when you think about your answers to those questions, will you regret it? Every day, you are alive. You are presented with another opportunity to do what is right. Empathy is a gateway to transform our future and that comes in many forms.
So I ask you again. That leader. That everyday citizen with that voice. Society needs you right now. However, you can. Wherever you can. Inspire a more empathetic future for generations to come.
You might not be able to understand my life, but my black life, it matters.
