Announcing Deal Advisory Manager at KPMG Matt Pelton On The Global Committee

Glappitnova unlocks human potential and we are super excited to have deal advisory manager Matt Pelton on the Glappitnova global committee.
Matt is inspired by the power of business and entrepreneurship in driving social and economic change. He is an international business professional that has worked with entrepreneurs, clients and senior leaders from around the globe while living in Nairobi, Madrid, Mauritius, Connecticut, San Francisco, and Chicago. Currently, he is a Deal Advisory Manager at KPMG, where he leads international projects focused on cross-border M&A, accounting policy, and financial reporting considerations. He is also a licensed CPA and a national facilitator for KPMG Business School. In Chicago, he has volunteered with initiatives that span the Chicago Innovation Network, Techstars Startup Weekend Chicago Social Impact by Grow with Google, Agora Partnerships’Mentor Network for Latin American entrepreneurs, Azubuike African American Council for the Arts, and Berwyn South School District 100’s Students Involved in Technology and iEngage.
While abroad, Matt served in strategy, operations, and business development roles for ventures within the African Leadership Group. He helped build the African Leadership University (ALU) as a member of the co-founding team and led the initiative to design its ALU School of Business from the idea stage to launch. In addition, he led a pan-African entrepreneurship program to identify, support, and connect high-growth, high-impact businesses from across Africa to the African Leadership Network. Matt has performed market research and due diligence for entrepreneurs and companies exploring growth opportunities and also has led workshops and events on entrepreneurship, leadership, and professional development as a coach, facilitator, and speaker. He is passionate about sharing inspiring stories of innovation and impact from emerging markets and enjoys supporting entrepreneurs as they ideate and iterate their business models to better serve their customers.
Matt obtained a Master in International Relations from IE Business School, and his graduate thesis assessed the relationship between entrepreneurial education, economic development, and state security in sub-Saharan Africa. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Accounting and Business and Minors in Spanish and Economics from Augustana College (IL), where he was also a starting point guard and NCAA Division III Academic All-American. Matt fulfilled his childhood dream of playing professional sports in the Kenya Basketball Federation’s national league while working for the African Leadership Network.
