It’s time for the Sunday Funday Funk-raiser!
July 12th, 2015, ThreadMeUp HQ – 406 N. Aberdeen Ave., Chicago, 1pm – 6pm. – In collaboration with Glappitnova festival, ThreadMeUp will be hosting a Sunday Funday fundraiser benefitting Chicago-based arts non-profit, The Simple Good, on Sunday July 12th at ThreadMeUp HQ.
ThreadMeUp, a custom merchandising platform geared towards artists, innovators and entrepreneurs, based out of the West Loop, will be sponsoring the creation of Simple Good T-shirts which will feature stories of different meanings of ‘the simple good’ generated by Chicago youth that have participated in TSG’s After School Art Program. TSG’s Art Program uses conscious art programming in under-served communities to empower youth to discover positivity within themselves and the world in order to bring positive activism in their own communities. Five different T-shirts from five different Chicago communities in which TSG programming is being conducted, will be launched as a part of a 30-day t-shirt campaign.
Each t-shirt will tell a different ‘simple good’ story derived from youth in from the South and West-sides of Chicago. You can view them here. During the fundraiser, 10 Chicago visual and performing artists will use the inspiration from the stories of good from each t-shirt to create their own art live at the event! In order to get into the event, guests can either buy a Simple Good T-shirt via the ThreadMeUp site or donate at the door. 100% of t-shirt sales and donations go towards supporting The Simple Good art programming in under-resourced communities across the city empowering youth to bring positivity into their lives.
