When Someone Gives You 2 Million Dollars It Changes A Lot
The humbled Ben Gulak flew into Chicago with a powerful story in his pocket to share at Glappitnova. He was that kid with the epic 1.25 million dollar deal without a business plan from the TV Show Dragon’s Den. It’s been around longer than Shark Tank, and is based in Canada. Ben was able to get all of the five Dragon’s to invest in his idea, and two of the investors from Dragon’s Den are now on Shark Tank (Kevin O’Leary, and Robert Herjavec).
At first he didn’t want to go on the TV show, but changed his mind to impress a girl. When he first received the million dollar deal after his product The Uno was named 2008 Popular Science invention of the year, all his investors were no where to be found after the economy crashed.
It’s those ups and downs that entrepreneurs deal with on daily basis. Ben ended up raising more capital, and is currently planning on some new upgrades. This clip at Glappitnova shows a little preview of his 10 minute session, he happened to talk about raising funds.
